Festival of Lights

Bella, Pop, Michael, Caden, and I visited the Festival of Lights at Chehaw this weekend. Caden LOVED the lights! I think his most favorite part, though, was being able to get out of the car seat and see what was happening in the front seat. He climbed into Pop's lap and pushed the first button that he could reach...the window. It was probably the highlight of his day to watch the window go all the down and know that he made that happen.

Christmas is almost here

The York's came to Albany this past weekend. Caden and Alexander enjoyed hanging out together. They are getting very curious this Christmas and both like the tree. Michael and I had not planned to decorate since we are living very temporarily this year. We even left all our decorations in Athens. Mom was nice to let us borrow a tree and a few ornaments to make the holidays a little more exciting. We are looking forward to being back in North Georgia next Christmas where we will be able to celebrate our new beginning. That is our Christmas wish this year...for Michael to find the "pefect" job so that we can start planning our move.

The Big Boy Bed

It is amazing how quickly babies become toddlers. Our baby is no longer a baby, of course he hasn't been for some time. Caden wants to be a big boy so much. Now he can be. Some friends of my mom's were going to take these bunk beds to the dump. We love free things, so Michael took on the job of painting them...brown, of course. We put them up about two weeks ago - right after he had surgery to put tubes in his ears. I don't know whether it was the surgery, the bed, or both but he is sleeping very well. I wish everyone could see how much he loves his bed. There has never been a complaint about naptime or bedtime. He plays and reads in it throughout the day. If you are wondering, yes he likes to jump on it. He is learning that he has to be careful because he hits his head on the roof. But you know boys. It may hurt, but he also thinks it is funny.

Christmas Party

The Kennedy's hosted a Christmas party where we got to make (and eat) Christmas trees. I had so much fun and even tasted my first M&M. I don't think mommy can keep me away anymore. Oh, you may have noticed the short sleeve shirt at a Christmas party. This Albany place is always hot. I don't know if I will need long sleeves here.

Visiting Papa Jack and Mimi

The York's and Olsommer's visited North Carolina. We had so much fun...until Alexander hurt his foot. No need to worry, though, he is just fine now.

Boo at the Zoo

The Olsommer Family celebrated Caden's first Trick-or-Treat experience at our local zoo. It is a big production and well worth the time and money - for the older kids at least. Caden was tired and frustrated with his costume. There is a hat for Scooby Doo, but Caden wouldn't wear it. But he did find a big Scooby Doo while we waited in line for 30 minutes...

More stuff...

Marks Melon Patch

We visited the famous Marks Melon Patch to pick out a pumpkin. There were many things to see. The sunflowers were in full bloom and there were all kinds of pumpkins to choose from. Caden tried to pick up some of them but quickly realized how heavy they are. I think his favorite part, though, was the homemade ice cream. Yum yum!

SMILE!

This is Caden's smile...scary isn't it?

Oh No!

Caden loves to close the pantry door...but can't open it. Watch for his reaction. It makes us laugh every time.

Just our luck

Yes, this is our new car. A student at my school was mad at a teacher and threw a brick and a rock through her windshield. No, that teacher was not me. Unfortunately this bright student got the cars mixed up and it ended up in our Altima, not her Maxima a few cars over. At least no one was hurt!!!

Visiting the Great Grandparents

Mom, Caden, and I visited the May's last Saturday. We had a wonderful lunch...fried chicken. Caden loved running all over the house with so many things to explore. He loved Grandaddy's chair and all the things that he couldn't reach hanging from the ceiling.

The York's visit Albany

All boy...

Caden loves playing in his pool. (Thanks Uncle Taylor!) As you can see, he shows no fear. The problem is that this was taken 15 minutes before bedtime. To quote Uncle Mike (York), "He only has two speeds, fast and off."

Morning riser!

Caden can not wait to put on his shoes and play at day care. Some mornings he doesn't even wait to get out of his jammies! Lesley and I love that he enjoys day care and playing with the other children.

Caden can read?

Caden is quite the little reader these days. He loves looking at all books, although he really enjoys his farm books.

I can brush my teeth

Visiting the family

Caden spent some time with cousin Alexander this weekend. Now that both are walking we were all very busy keeping up with the kids. They really enjoyed their play time and were exhausted when we had to leave. We can't wait for the York's to visit Albany (when it is cooler) so we can play here, too.

My new horse

Papa Jack and Mimi sent Caden a new toy. These horses have been around for many years but are definately cooler than when I had one. Caden loves to point to the horses eyes, nose, and mouth and is learning how to ride. It may be a little big for him, but he doesn't mind. In fact, I think he likes the challenge. Our little climber has made it work!

What's new with us

As most of you know Lesley, Caden and I have recently moved to Albany, Georgia. We will spend the next year here while I finish the last year of pharmacy school, only 9 more months! Lesley is teaching Marketing at Monroe Comprehensive High School in town. Caden started daycare a couple weeks ago and is adjusting well. He really enjoys the teacher and all the children. Claire and Wayne have been extremely helpful in our transition to the area, Lesley and I don't know what we would have done without them here. Lesley had a hard time leaving Leah in Athens, but it helps to have her mother so close. Caden loves to help Pop in the garage whether they are "fixing" bikes or chasing balls down the driveway. We miss not having a yard where Caden can play, but it has been so hot here that his outside time is limited anyway. We look forward to cooler weather so we can frequent the local zoo/park. They have some cool exibits and the park is great, huge playground and picnic areas. Thats all for now, we miss you all-
